Jakarta, August 15, 2024 — As a world-class green energy company, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO) continues to innovate and collaborate to establish a geothermal center of excellence. Today (August 15), PGE signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ecolab International Indonesia for the development and deployment of the two-phase fluid flow measurement technology, Flow2Max®.

This collaboration marks an important step towards the creation of new solutions in the geothermal energy sector and other industries. The partnership between the two companies in studying the optimization, application, and performance enhancement of Flow2Max® technology signifies a significant advancement toward the development of new solutions in the geothermal energy sector and beyond. This MoU serves as a preparation for the signing of a licensing agreement to be held at the Indonesia International Geothermal Convention & Exhibition (IIGCE) on September 18-20. Flow2Max® is a groundbreaking innovation for measuring geothermal two-phase fluid flow in real-time with reliable, accurate information. Developed by Mohamad Husni Mubarok, PhD (Husni), Manager of Production and Operational Excellence at PGE, this technology has received patent certification in the United States, Iceland, Turkey, the Philippines, New Zealand, and Indonesia.

PGE's President Director, Julfi Hadi, stated that the collaboration with Ecolab will optimize the Flow2Max® technology, expand its applications, and deliver new solutions that will add value not only to the geothermal industry but also to other industrial sectors globally. 

With more than a century of experience, Ecolab has the capability to integrate new technologies and expand its reach. The Flow2Max® technology has the potential to be combined with Ecolab's chemical, automation, and digital technologies to have a greater impact on the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of geothermal power generation.

Evan Jayawiyanto, President Director of Ecolab International Indonesia, added that innovation is key to unlocking the full potential of the geothermal industry. Through its global network, Ecolab will take the Flow2Max® technology, initially applied in Indonesia's geothermal sector, to a worldwide audience and introduce it to various other industries.
